Waterfront Pearl towers will keep with the ongoing emphasis in Portland for being Retro-Industrial Chic. The architecture features geometric forms of glass and metal with cantilevered balconies. The proximity to the Pearl district and local art galleries makes this a destination for many looking to live on the water and still in the dense urban environment. The Waterfront Pearl plans include an extensive water feature designed by a California company that has worked on some of the splashiest water projects in Las Vegas. The water features covers almost the entire property and will range in depth from 18 to 36 inches. Water will cascade down a series of waterfalls, be recycled through a control, and irrigation. It will also provide gray water for toilet flushing and water for fire fighting. Other project partners include Walker-Macy, Otak Architects Inc. and Soren Rasmussen Architects, Inc. via Portland Business Journal Feb 8, 2005 Wendy Culverwell.
