The Portland Metro market has changed much lately and the value of working with a local agent has never been more important than our current market. We have all seen the headlines of the National story in housing over the last five years... "A Roller Coaster Ride" in home appreciation and depreciation to say the least. In recent months Oregon has shown significant signs of a leveling off of excess housing inventory from our January 2009 peak. I am very optimistic that we are moving forward in a recovery ahead of other parts of the U.S. based on recent sales trends. It will take some time for the State to get over higher than average unemployment rates here. Due not just to the Economy, but the continued flood of new residents into the state for all we have to offer. We are now seeing hints of home appreciation on close-in Portland homes and heading towards a "Normal" market of supply and demand. Condo inventory will also work itself out in time with little new construction planned for the coming years. It is important to understand that prices may rise or fall, but the benefits of home ownership stay constant. There are many real estate search engines that can be used online, but few show a personal approach that is required when searching for a home specific to your needs! It is my goal to listen, educate, and present you the best properties in Oregon! Great homes in Portland, and Bandon on the Southern Oregon Coast. - Ian Fowler |
